History & History Related Items Bergen history: Bergen was plotted in 1903 and the few residents and former inhabitants are planning a 100 year celebration. At one time, Bergen had two banks, two general stores, a meat market, hotel, lumber yard, blacksmith shop, auto and farm machinery dealership, two filling stations, auto repair shop, hardware store, and pool hall. Now, in 2002, it is pretty much of a ghost town.
