History & History Related Items Ong history: The town was originally named Joong which was changed to Greenberry after Greenberry L. Fort. Then, on November 12, 1888, the name was changed to Ong for Judge J. E. Ong, who owned land in the southwest quarter of section 13 on which the town was surveyed. As of 3-2003 there is still an operating post office in the town.
