Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad is in the Village of Seneca. This village was created when the (CB & Q Railroad)came through in the late 1800's, following the South Loup River valley toward Alliance, Ne. Seneca was a major crew change point, along with the water, coal, maintenance, repair for the locomotives and control of the rail operations through that area.
