The climate for Fallon is temperate and typical of a high desert area. History & History Related Items Fallon history: Fallon developed as a town on the California Emigrant Trail and, later, the Overland Road. After the completion of the federal Newlands Project and Lahontan Dam, it became a vital agricultural community. It is now home to the Fallon Naval Air Station and the Top Gun fighter school.
