On the Colorado River near the Arizona and California borders. Across the river from Bullhead City in Arizona. It is in the extreme southwest corner of Nevada in the "tri-state" area which is the geographic meeting point of San Bernardino County in California, Mohave County in Arizona and Clark County in Nevada. It is located on history Route 66.

Laughlin is an unincorporated area of Clark County and is governed by the county. In Nevada, County Commissioners are the legally constituted Town Boards for all unincorporated towns. Each town has an advisory board; however, all traditional governmental decisions are made by the Board of County Commissioners.

January - Laughlin SCORE Desert Challenge, off-road competition

Laughlin River Run - an annual event
18th Annual (2000) Laughlin River Run April 27-30, 2000
Over 50,000 Harley Davidson enthusiasts usually show up for this annual event the largest ride-in rally in the west. Also, along with the ride-in, are custom bike shows, stunt competitions, a Miss River Run contest and a Harley Davidson lifestyle trade show.
