Location
Minden location: in northwestern Nevada about 14 miles from Carson City. It is only about 20 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe. Other nearby communities include Gardnerville, Gardnerville Ranchos, Johnson Lane, Kingsbury, Indian Hills, Stateline and Zephyr Cove-Round Hill Village. Gardnerville and Minden have basically merged together to form one large town though they still remain separate municipalities. Here is a map page for the area.

The climate for Minden is seasonal with all four season represented. Winters are not extremely cold but have some snowfall. Summers have plenty of sunshine and are warm with cool nights. Minden history: Minden was established in 1905 as a railroad town with a train depot, a central area park and a planned residential and business area. The town was completely planned before it even began creating a good guide for future growth. Minden was named after Minden, Germany, near the birthplace of H.F. Dangberg. The town remained quite stable for many years. Eventually, in the mid twentieth century, new subdivisions of homes began to appear with more growth coming in the 1970's.
