2002, July 1
100th Birthday Celebration
Pearl I. Hoffer-Sutfin
Yes, another, but this is SPECIAL, it's my "Mom. Pearl I. Hoffer-SUTFIN was 100 on July 1, 2002. Born, July 1, 1902 to Alfred and Bertha Herzig-Hoffer (Hofer) in Frankfort, NY. Alfred/ Bertha came from Wynau, Berns, Switzerland, via their parents, in 1884, settling in Forest City, near Castorland and Beaver Falls, Lewis Co. NY. Pearl retired from Bausch & Lomb Optical in 1967. Earlier that same year (1967) Pearls husband, Harold (Harry) John Sutfin, had a fatal heart attack. Together, they raised three children: Delos Harold Sutfin, Loowenna (Lou) Sutfin-Snook, and Gerald (Jerry) L. Sutfin (sole surviving offspring). Ten grandchildren and 3.5 great-grandchildren are legacies of Pearl & Harold.

Pearl lives independently, and has for the past twenty-five years in Fairport, NY. She cooks all her vegetables, pot roasts, etc, plus contributing her success of longevity to drinking plenty of water, plenty of fruits and a lot of exercise. Keeping busy all those years at arts & crafts, caring for others (also, being feisty and tenacious). She is God loving and has passed her good traits along to us, who are a part of her.

She, too, plays games with a vengeance. Top peak mental and as she puts it, "Slowing down" physical ability, at 99 yrs 11 mos 21 days. This same person loses me at Penfield Wegmans Super Market, every week. Always fun, always laughs and there have been the sad times, but "Mom....many more good years ahead!"
