Chateaugay Historical Events

2001, January 13
Alexander Lesyk, Esq. of Chateaugay has been sponsored for admittance to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. After his induction in Washington, D.C. this spring, he will be able to argue cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. While there are a few attorneys in Franklin County who have been appointed to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the appointment is not common. The New York State Bar Association honored Lesyk in 1993 by naming him one of the two best public defenders in New York State. Lesyk currently argues cases in all levels of state and county court, and several federal jurisdictions.

Christina and Alex Lesyk are pleased to announce the winner of this year's Crime Victims Rights Scholarship. ANGIE MARTIN, daughter of Bruce and Connie Martin, is this year's winner. Angie is an honors graduate of Chateaugay Central School in Chateaugay, New York and intends to pursue a career in Psychology. The awarding of this unusual annual scholarship recognizes academic achievement (regardless of income), but candidates must intend to enroll in college and enter a career field that has the potential of helping victims of any type of crime. Past winners of this scholarship have expressed intentions to enter law enforcement and environmental law. Congratulations to Angie Martin!
