1980Olympic Games
Lake Placid was the host for the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Games where the USA hockey team pulled off the biggest upset in hockey history by beating the Soviet Union 4-3 in the semi-finals and then going on to win the gold medal and where Eric Heiden won gold medals.
