Mt. Van Hoevenberg - bobsled, luge, cross country skiing and biathlon venue for 1980 Olympic Winter Games.

Toboggan Chute - old fashioned wooden toboggan chute which hurls you onto Mirror Lake in the center of the village.

United States Olympic Training Center - venue where athletes are housed during their training in Lake Placid.

Olympic Speedskating Oval - speedskating venue for the 1980 Olympic Winter Games.

Olympic Games
Lake Placid was the host for the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Games where the USA hockey team pulled off the biggest upset in hockey history by beating the Soviet Union 4-3 in the semi-finals and then going on to win the gold medal and where Eric Heiden won gold medals.
