library information: Our collection includes over 80,000 adult books, 40,000 children's books, videos, cd's, cassette tapes, computer software and cd roms, records, books on tape, puzzles, games and large print. Special collections include the Marjorie Gibbs collection on Downs Syndrome, the Lincoln collection, a large collection of Peekskill and Local History, the George Gibbs Business Collection, a law library and a Job Information Center. The Children's Department conducts a wide variety of programs for children from age one year thru middle school age and workshops for parents. The Children's Department closes at 6 p.m. on Mon., Tues. and Weds. and at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays. The direct phone number for the Children's Department is 737-0847 and the Head of Children's Services is Sally Bentley (1999).
