History & History Related Items Sea Cliff history: The Carpenter family came to Sea Cliff in the 1700's to farm. Later, in 1871, the German Methodists came for meetings to be held in Sea Cliff. Many early settlers lived in tents during the early years. Sea Cliff is one of the smallest incorporated villages in the country. The village was incorporated in 1883. Homes in Sea Cliff are well-maintained with most built before 1940. Many were built early in the century. The Victorian Architecture is prevalent here and many homes have spectacular views of the harbor and surrounding area.
