Wampsville Historical Events
1953, December 26Frank Moyer who was an active Fireman and machinist in Wampsville, died on 26 December 1953. He was buried in the Wampsville Cemetery. He was my Uncle and was such a handsome man. I believe he took in Margaret Derwin, his sister (daughter of Alice Baldwin and John Moyer, whose husband, Joseph Baptist Derwin, my Grandfather, died a horrible death, leaving her with seven very young children - a real housefull. He is a real hero to me!
I visited him when I was a child and have several pictures and some documents, I treasure these and wish I had more. I did a short story on him to pass on to my family's children.

Wampsville Community News
Looking for info on my GrandfatherI am seeking information on the birth and death dates of my grandfather, the family has no history of him. His name was Joseph Baptist Derwin. He was a diver and a woodcutter. I believe he was born in 1879, and had one son born in Forest Co PA in 1911.
If you can help me I would be ever grateful
Here is some of the information which I have at this time:
Alice Baldwin (b-3/13/1855 d-11/13/51) married John Moyer.
Children: Frank, Joseph, William and Margaret Moyer.
Margaret married Joseph Baptist Derwin.
I am looking for the parents of Alice, John and Joseph Baptist Derwin.
John Moyer had a sister Hazel Avery, probably her married name. Alice had a sister Bertha Bowers - also a married name.
