Founded in 1778, it's the nation's oldest continuously manned Army post. It's also the nation's oldest service academy, founded in 1802.

The West Point Museum
The West Point Museum at Pershing Center is open seven days a week. Visitors are free to enter the post at any time, but traffic is restricted and visitors are asked to go to the Visitor Information Center upon arrival. The Center is open 9:00 - 4:45 daily. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. Guided tours of West Point are available: 845-446-4724.
