Genealogy for Avon.

The area on which Avon is located at the present time was once in Indian Territory. Near the end of the American Revolution in 1783, there was conflict here between the Americans and the consolidated British and Iroquois tribe.

Lorain County was created in 1824 and Troy Township changed its name to Avon Township.
