Robert Clark and his family came here in 1847 from Maine. The village name became official in 1867 and incorporation followed in 1923.

The Nature Conservancy
Kitty Todd Nature Preserve
Interested in learning more about the Oak Openings Region?
Join a naturalist for a guided hike through the Kitty Todd Nature Preserve. Pre-registration is required. Please call our office at 867-1521. Space is limited to approximately 15 people.
Strawberry Acres Park at McCord and Angola Roads has sports facilities, playgrounds, trails and a shelter. This park has about 12 acres. The local library is located on adjacent land that was once part of the park.
