Economy & Industry

Late in 2001, a group of local leaders formed New Washington Development to aid in the much needed revitalization effort. These members have invested their own money and dedicated much time researching various avenues that will positively affect the citizens, businesses and village of New Washington.
One who has not traveled through the village in over a year will be astonished by the improvements. One will find a Laundromat, complete with wash and fold service, alterations and dry cleaning in the once vacated theatre building. Above, two fully equipped apartments. In April 2003, the back of this will operate a hair salon. The group also recruited and developed the new medical practice of Dr. Brad Nieset, MD. In addition to this, the massive drugstore has been demolished and new bank being constructed in its place. Most recently, the downtown Michefelder house was divided to showcase New Washington's newest business, Grandma Violet's Flower and Gift Shop.
