The original name in 1817 for Twinsburg was Millsville. In 1819, it was renamed Twinsburg by identical twins, Moses and Aaron Wilcox, who were important figures in the expansion and growth of the town. They were merchants from Connecticut who came to live here in 1823. They married sisters and were in business together their entire lives. They died within hours of each other. True to their name, the Twins Days Festival is held in Twinsburg each year the first weekend in August. Multiples and others attend the festival from all around the world.
