This is a "Trivia page" for Wooster College.
On Dec. 11, 1901, a fire destroyed Wooster's main academic building. In his attempts to find funds to rebuild the College in the aftermath of that tragedy, President Louis Holden telegraphed Carnegie to ask for help. The result was that, within a year, Holden and others managed to raise enough money to build five new buildings to replace the one that burned.
