Memoirs of Rex L. Wilson
On or about November 1, an important historical book of memoirs entitled, Out East of Aline: An Adoption Memoir, by Rex L. Wilson, former resident of Alfalfa County will be released by the Uncommon Buffalo Press, Rapid City South Dakota. The book details day-to-day life of a young boy, adopted during the Great Depression by a hard-working farmer and wife, and how he learns to adapt, not only to his early abandonment by his widowed mother who, unable to care for him, must leave him at an orphanage, but also to life with his new family. Wilson is careful to give credit to friends, neighbors, and teachers and to his participation in activities at a country school called Round Grove School.

This page is for perpetual written accounts of historical events that have occurred in the city. Anyone who feels they have pertinent information may submit it. This includes all people in or out of Aline and could involve any interested adults or children with events or items that are of interest. Items may be submitted for publication on this page where they will remain as part of a historical archive for the city. Items of interest may include noteworthy events, special events of historical importance, information about area growth that pertains to the history of the city, and other pertinent notes. We hope to establish a large data base of information about the history of each city. Historical Societies are encouraged to open their own page on Key to the City for more extensive historical information.
