This tiny community has a wonderful free Fourth of July event. Turtle races, a community potluck, and Western band precede the fireworks shot off at dusk. All located at the city park - tennis courts. You are welcome!

The Nature Conservancy's prairie park' s north access is only five miles south of Grainola off Highway 18. Signs from there lead you to miles and miles of virgin prairie and hundreds of free range bison.
