The High Noon Cowboy/Western Writers Seminar
Place: The Chisholm Trail Historical Museum
Time: 9 A.M.
Sponsored by: The Chisholm Trail Historical Museum
This shindig was started in 1999 for the express purpose of helping promote aspiring authors. We invite accomplished writers and professors to give insight on the ways to make better use of the talent you have. The guest speakers talk on outlines, note taking, and et. to getting your novel published.
Last year the keynote speaker was Gerald McCathern, a tremendous writer from the panhandle of Texas. His fictional books, Horns, Bones and Quarantine, will leave you spellbound. He spoke of the trials and problems he had in getting his books into print. He will be the speaker this year introducing the Keynote speaker, Mr. Elmer Kelton. Elmer, as all western readers know, is the king of western fiction. His book, The Good Old Boys, was made into a movie that stared Tommy Lee Jones and Sam Sheppard. You will be satisfied with the time spent by being here for this years event.
We will be serving up a fixin“s of beef, beans and bread for the lunch. The seminar is free but you gotta pay for the spread (lunch) $5.00, but it will stick to your ribs.
Thanks, and hope to see you here on the Chisholm Trail.
