Wellston Historical Events


First National Guard Field Artillery Unit
The Town of Wellston had one of the first National Guard Field Artillery units in the State of Oklahoma (1920). The unit, C Battery, 1st 160th F.A. was at Wellston from 1920-1924. The unit was later re-located to Chandler and has remained in that location since 1924. The unit was Federally recognized in 1920 or 1921.
