There is a wrought iron railroad bridge which spans the river. It once carried lumber from the many mills, but now is used as a pedestrian bridge.

Attractions

The Santiam river well known for its fine fishing and white water rafting runs directly through the center of Mill City. Just west of the Bridge crossing the river is a very popular launching point for many whitewater kayakers. Mill City is also the home of oneof the more spectacular fireworks displays created by the Mill City fire district every Fourth of July.The Name, Mill City, was very appropriate in the period from 1900through the 1960s, however there is currently (1-2001) only one operational millremaining. Frank Lumber Company currently employs a substantial numberof this community, and makes a considerable contribution to the local economy.
