Phoenix history:

Here is a history page for Phoenix

One of the first settlers, Samuel Colver, came here in the mid-1850’s. He had a 640 acre land claim of which he later donated some acreage for the townsite of Phoenix in 1854. Phoenix was a center for trade in the Rogue Valley, but when the Oregon & California Railroad came through in 1887, travel and trade was greatly expanded for Phoenix helping the community to reach out much further than their own local area.
