Lykens, Pennsylvania Historical Events

2000, October 11
Paul Daniel Blyler, Sr.
It is with great regret that I have to advise the community of the passing of Paul Daniel Blyler Sr., son of Harry Blyler and Nina Blyler (Rettinger). He passed away on 10/11/00 in Lighthouse Point, Florida. He resided there for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Elinora Blyler, his brother, Roscoe Blyler and Marge blyler, and children, Brenda, Karen, Paul, Jr., and Gretchen. He was 93 at the time of his passing and died in his sleep.

He grew up in lykens and did not leave till he was about 37 years old. He was retired Lt. Commander in the navy, a see bee and engineer. He helped to build the Tuscarora mountain tunnel and the Lykens community swimming pool and surrounding areas. He was an avid football player in high school and lost several teeth as a result of his zeal. He was a wonderful father and husband and will be missed dearly by all of us. He was my dad.
