Miscellany

My Hometown of McAdoo
by Robert A. Fudge, a former resident of McAdoo
Sleepy little town with its green rolling hills
This little town survives without any frills
The mines shut down not to work any more
Worrying how to pay the company store

There is this feeling of love that surrounds you
Helping each other is what they do
With beautiful churches in all their attire
In each one is teaching hell and fire

The houses of God are in great disrepair
Their walls are cracked and starting to tear
Bell wont work in the high wooden steeple
The main thing it needs are a lot of people

Without this ingredient all is for not
We forget the great things churches brought
Births deaths and weddings of the past
The memories of children praying will last

We forget why we still live in this town
our parents property are now handed down
Support churches no matter where you are
Knowing you can help is better by far
