History & History-related items
"Asa Cobb came to this area around 1784 and worked the land near what is now Mt. Cobb. The gap in the mountain - for a time called Cobb's Mountain - leading east out of Dunmore was long known as Cobb's Gap, and Moosic Lake was for years called Cobb's Mountain Pond. And it's a good thing the Archbald Pothole didn't form here, or else we'd be calling it the Asa Hole. "
