Alley Popper staged train crash - 1914
My grandfather was involved in the Alley Popper staged train crash in or around 1914. The crash was filmed and used in many old western movies. He sold popcorn to the spectators and acted as a victim after the crash. I would like to get a copy of the footage to review with my family. Several cameras were set up and different footage may appear in several films. What info may be available through your resources. Possibly names of films, a local R.R. enthusiast, Historians that would have info or possibly some individuals that were involved as well.
My Grandfather Homer Maney passed away in 1989, he told me this story and at the time I did not have the resources to locate any supporting info, with the internet and the worldwide connection, now it may be possible.
If anyone can help me, please email me at: dmaney@ptd.net
Thank you, Doug Maney
