The idea was the brainstorm of Mike Walker, a former county executive. We desired to bring more travelers off the large interstates and onto the less traveled roads of Tennessee and Kentucky. It began in 1987 and has grown each year since. It is held each year in August. Here is another website about the Worlds largest yard sale.
