This is the site of the 1864 Battle of Johnsonville. In addition to exhibits of the battle, there are hiking trails, picnic areas and a pavilion.

New Johnsonville is bordered by the Tennessee River and attracts fisherman and sportsman from all over Tennessee and surrounding states.

Two of the largest industries in the U S A are located in New Johnsonville, these being Tennessee Valley Authority and Dupont. The City also has an Industrial Park as well as other industry locations.
The CXS Railroad runs through New Johnsonville and the housing is very affordable compared to Nashville, Tn. which is approximately 70 miles east.
