History & History Related Items Blue history: Originally Blue was called Blue Branch. Blue attractions: The heart of the community is Jackson's Store, convenience store, gas pumps, beer joint,porch. There is the Blue Methodist Church, and the plant farm. The biggest building in Blue is the firehouse, which is frequently used for community activities. The Blue Volunteer Fire Department, the fire fighting unit of Blue Branch Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., is an all volunteer organization that serves a 90 sq. mile area of NW Lee County with two brush trucks, and automatic mutual aid from Lexington VFD on structure fires.
