History & History Related Items Blue Mound history: A businessman, John Kennedy, setup his business, Globe Laboratories, here in 1920. In order to expand, he purchased more acreage in 1933 and gradually, a settlement grew up around the business operations. It was named Blue Mound after the nearby hill by the same name. Even after the businesses left the area, Blue Mound continued to grow. It incorporated in 1960. Many of Blue Mound's residents commute to jobs in nearby Fort Worth or at the International Airport.
