Coahoma, TX was once the home of one the greatest coaches to college football. Spyke Dikes is the head football coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders one of the top teams in the Big Twelve Conference along with The University of Texas, Baylor University, and, Texas A&M. He coached at Coahoma in the sixties leading them to the state finals in Austin. After an A&M game at Tech a fan said "that had to be the best football game of your career." "No, the best game of my career was at Coahoma when we beat Aspermont High ranked number one, there were 1200 seats and 2400 people at the game, it doesn't get any better than that."
