Return to Index History & History Related Items Crandall history: Crandall was founded in 1880 by the building eastward from Dallas of the Texas and New Orleans railway, then known as the Texas Trunk Line and the liberal donations of land by Reverend C.F. Crandall, who owned land on which the town is built. The trunk line had been bought by the Southern Pacific System and the cotton crop of 1900 was a bumper, for this and other reasons the town took a new lease on life.
