Kerens Historical Events

1999, September 25
Hardy P. Mayo turns 95 years old!
My husband's grandfather, Hardy P Mayo, was the model for the Big Tex statue at the Dallas State Fair. It was originally a Santa Claus for a celebration in Kerens, Texas back around 1949. Hardy P Mayo turns 94 on Sept. 25th. I am looking for the articles on the celebration or anything about Hardy P Mayo during that time.
