History & History Related Items Lorenzo history: Here is a history page for Lorenzo. This page gives much information, including a list of all the former Mayors of Lorenzo. Lorenzo was begun in 1911, but was first named San Lorenzo. Because there was another San Lorenzo in the state, the "san" was dropped from the name. The town was named for Lorenzo Dow for worked for the founding company, the C.B. Livestock Company. The village grew and eventually incororated on 1 April 1924.
Lorenzo economy: agriculture. Cattle, cotton, wheat, soybeans, sunflowers, peanuts, milo, oats, and alfalfa. The most important crop, though, remains cotton.
