McKinney Community Events

First Weekend of May each year
Mayfair
This festival features an "era" theme, returning visitors to the Square to some nostalgic yesteryear. A variety of entertainment on two sound stages, a Little Miss and Little Mr. Mayfair promenade, food vendors and local merchants displaying their wares in imaginative street displays highlight this celebration of heritage. Tours are also available.

First Weekend after Thanksgiving each year
Dickens of a Christmasthe McKinney Downtown Association presents "Dickens of a Christmas." This celebration of McKinney's Victorian period introduces the first full shopping weekend of the Christmas season. Windows are decorated in a seasonal theme and the merchants are garbed in the costumes of Dickens' London. The weekend after "Dickens" is the Heritage Guild's annual "Christmas Tour of Homes." Five to seven of the historic homes around the city are open to visitors.
