Attractions
The City hosts an annual 4th of July Parade and Celebration at Marilyn Edgar Park on Hillside Drive. This park is our largest and best park. We have 25 cent hot dogs and free soft drinks, with an opportunity for all to set out a lawn chair and have a relaxed, casual bird's eye view of the fireworks display from The Woodlands. We also host the annual "Christmas In The Park" as well, with local entertainment provided by the choruses, choirs and bands from the local schools, churches and other organizations. The park additionally hosts the Oak Ridge Otters Swim Team Meets at our public swimming pool. We also have a large covered lighted pavilion and another smaller pavilion which are utilized for all sorts of occasions at a very nominal fee. Also at the park are two ballfields, tennis courts and a playground. And at the corner of Robinson Road and Patsy Lane, we have Teddy Bear Park which is a favorite of many who come from all over to let their children play on the new playground equipment, enjoy the shade from the tall trees with the convenience of restroom facilities and a refreshing ice cold water fountain.
