Rankin City Government

The Rankin Volunteer Fire Dept. is an all-volunteer, 24 member, well-trained, well-equipped organization, with membership in The State Firemen's and Fire Marshal's Assoc. of Texas, The National Volunteer Fire Council, and The Permian Basin Firefighters' Assoc.
Rankin VFD has just moved into a brand new 7000 square foot 5 bay station which also houses the Rankin EMS. The new station also has a large classroom, two offices, kitchen, two restrooms, and two large storage areas. In 1999, Bobby Sides is VFD Chief and Robert Underwood is EMS Chief.
Six firefighters are basic certified through SFFMA and three more are very close to certification. The EMS consists of 10 basic certified EMT's. The VFD trains each Monday evening, with formal classes each third and fourth Monday, 7-9 PM. The EMS trains each second and fourth Wed. 5-7 PM
The Rankin VFD apparatus inventory consists of:
One E-ONE 750 GPM Pumper Rankin EMS, Ambulance is E350, One Rescue Truck BLS Vehicle, 1995 Ford One Brush/Pumper Truck, One 5000 gal. Forest Ser. Tanker and one Suburban Command Vehicle
