Just like in the home town paper, your local news items can be published., But, this publication will go around the world. Tell everyone about Kari's great report card, or Kent's latest discovery. How about your vacation, or how your child's baseball team is doing. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa on the other side of the country would like to know how everyone is doing in Red Rock.


2003, November 25
At recent community meetings, many of the residents of Red Rock complained of the lack of activities for the youth of the Red Rock area.There had been several deaths of teen-agers recently, including one suicide.
In response to that need, Grace Baptist Church has begun "Saturday Night Live" every Saturday evening from 7 PM until midnight. Grace Baptist Church provided a large screen TV and obtained a source of cleaned up DVD movies as well as inspirational movies and invited area Christian youth bands and entertainers to encourage and entertain the young people in the area. Indoor and outdoor games, snacks and drinks are provided and adults and youth leaders are available to encourage and counsel as needed.
In addition Grace Baptist Church has made its facilities available to the Bastrop County Sheriff's office to use as a sub-station and for it's officers to have a place to place calls, use a computer and the internet, use a fax, have coffee and snacks and create a presence in the community.
