Robert Lee Historical Events

1942, April 15
Dean Hallmark was born in Robert Lee, Texas. He was on Crew #6 on Doolittle's bombing over Japan. He was one of three who was executed on 14 October 1942 at 9:30 am. The other two were Bill Farrow, 23, pilot, crew 16 from Darlington, South Carolina and Harold Spats, 21, EG crew #16 from Lebo, Kansas. They were taken to a cemetery outside Shanghai and had their hands tied to a wooden cross and then were shot in the head. This mission put America back in the driver's seat for the rest of the war.
