Saspamco is an acronym for San Antonio Sewage Pipe and Manufacturing Company. The company town established a post office by 1903 and currently has a population of about 250. The town lost its postoffice in 1986. The town is approximately 23 miles southeast ofdowntown San Antonio. The factory--although its operations arevery limited now--still stands.Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church is located in Saspamco.It was built in 1924 and replaced a wooden structure that burned.OLPH is a mission church of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Elmendorf, Texas. The old zip code for Saspamco was 78153 (before 1986)
