In 1895,land was purchased here by Seabrook W. Sydnor and a plat was filed with the Harris County Courthouse the following year. A revised plan was filed in March of 1903 by the Seabrook Company. The town was named by its founder. Seabrook was incorporated in 1961, particularly to avoid annexation by nearby larger cities such as Houston.
