This area began in 1985 as a subdivision. There are about 300 homes with a slow growth of about ten new homes each year. All lots are at least one acre and are zoned for animals. In 2006, an attempt at disincorporation was made as some felt the incorporation was done somewhat prematurely, but the measure failed.

There is a gas station and a fire department, but not much other business. The library is in the form of a bookmobile that comes from Iron County periodically.
