History & History Related Items Stansbury Park history: A relatively new community compared with many of the old Utah towns. It began in northeastern Tooele Valley in the early 1970's. It was named for explorer, Captain Howard Stansbury who helped to survey the Great Salt Lake in 1850. It is a planned community with many ammenities and is growing rapidly.
