Wendover was founded as a railroad town after the Western Pacific Railroad surveyed across the Great Salt Lake Desert. It evolved as a typical railroad town with its dance halls and saloons. West Wendover, Nevada is the major employer for Wendover, Utah. This city is partly in Nevada and partly in Utah. It is located near the Bonneville Salt Flats. Many speed trials have been held here.
