The plaques in this park tell the history of the area and of the Indian Chief, Walkara, who welcomed them. One is entitled, Invitation to Sanpete - 1849, which is when the 124 settlers arrived.
Other plaques list pioneer families in Manti and others who helped to settle the area as well.
During the pageant, there is camping here across the street from the temple.
