The Society's museum collection contains over 1,500 artifacts of historical significance to Charlottesville and Albemarle County. The Albemarle County Historical Society is located in the historic McIntire Building in downtown Charlottesville. The McIntire Building was completed in 1921 and donated to the City of Charlottesville as the city's first municipal library by local civic benefactor Paul Goodloe McIntire.

Our mission is to attract and unite a group of young, active, civic-minded professionals who have a clear vision of Charlottesville's future as a great place to live, work, and play. We host events targeting a wide-range of interests including arts/culture, social, sports, networking/professional development, and volunteerism. Our membership loves to get together, socialize, and become involved in the community, having a good time and working however we can to improve the City of Charlottesville. CYP currently has 125 members, ranging in age from early 20s to late 40s. Our members represent a vast array of the area’s workforce, including the arts, architecture, engineering, finance, marketing, manufacturing, the trades, law, medicine, media, non-profits, and government (that’s just a few of them!).
