Fort Lee history:

Fort Lee was first known as Camp Lee. In fact, after World War II was over, the status of Camp Lee was quite in question. Its retention as a military installation was confirmed in 1946 as a center for Quartermaster training. In 1950, it was renamed as Fort Lee.
