Radford history:

1762 William Ingles and his wife arrived and built Ingles's Ferry. Businesses grew up around the ferry becoming a small business area. When the railroad arrived in 1854, a depot was built at Lovely Mount and named Central. The area grew over the years and was incorporated in 1885 as Central City.
